Gautam Adani, the Chairman of Adani Group, has once again secured the title of India’s wealthiest individual, following a Supreme Court ruling in his favor amid the Adani-Hindenburg saga. Notably, Adani has now ascended to the position of the richest person in Asia, marking a remarkable turnaround in his financial fortunes.
Over the past year, Adani experienced a tumultuous journey, enduring a 34% decline in his net worth in January 2023 after Hindenburg Research released a report on the company. However, recent legal developments have propelled Adani back to the zenith of India’s wealth hierarchy, surpassing Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, as per the Bloomberg Index. Adani currently holds the 12th position on Bloomberg’s global billionaires index, with a net worth of $97.6 billion, while Ambani follows closely at the 13th spot with a net worth of $97 billion. Adani’s resurgence in wealth has also marked him as one of India’s most significant wealth gainers in the fiscal year.
